Holy Week and Easter: April 21-28

Palm Sunday, April 21, 11 am: Holy Liturgy & Processional. After Liturgy: Bake Sale -- Hosted by the Ladies Aid Society 7 pm: Evening Services (Naheere) Maundy Thursday (Fess-ho) Fish and Chips Dinner -- Hosted by the Ladies Aid Society, 6 pm - 8 pm Washing of the Feet: 8 pm Good Friday is April 26, evening service: Commemoration of the Passion, Crucifixion and Burial of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ celebrated by His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak Easter 2019 is Sunday, April 28. 11 am: Holy Liturgy, Holy Eucharist. Celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Leading up to Holy Week: Holy Lent Prayers are being held at our church every Sunday evening at 7pm, please bring Lenten food to be shared after prayers on Sunday. Prayers are also held at Mor Ephrem chapel on Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm, St Mark’s on Fridays 7:30pm and Mor Gabriel Sundays at 7pm as well.

The Assyrian Orphanage & School Association (TMS) Annual Benefit Gala / Mother’s Day Party

The Assyrian Orphanage & School Association (TMS) will be hosting its Annual Benefit Gala / Mother Day Party on Saturday May 11 at the Virgin Mary Social Hall. The evening features entertainment from Yousef Shamoun. The Orphanage & School Association has been in existence for over 100 years and have assisted thousands of needy children in the Middle East with education and humanitarian needs. We urge everyone to support our organization by either attending this Gala or by your generous donations. Annual Picnic

Our annual picnic is one of our church’s longstanding traditions. We welcome summer with outdoor music, food, games, raffles, bounce house, face painting, and good times for you and your family. PLUS NEW this year, a special backgammon tournament. The picnic will be held in our backyard, rain or shine, after Sunday Liturgy. Menu includes: Chicken or meat platter - Choice of 2 meats (Chicken or Adana Kebob), Salad, Bulgur, Soft drink/Water/Ayran Hamburgers Hot dogs Beverages: Soft Drinks / Ayran / Water / Beer Yagli Watermelon Ice cream

55th Annual Archdiocese Convention: July 25-28

The Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church for the Eastern United States and St. Mark's Syriac Orthodox Cathedral will be hosting the 55th Annual Archdiocesan Convention July 25-28 at the Glenpointe Marriott Hotel in Teaneck, NJ. Please note, the church will be closed on Sunday July 28th; instead, morning prayers will be at the convention hotel at 9 am and Holy Liturgy will be celebrated there at 10 am. Other notes that weekend: For kids 3-years and older during the convention, there is special Sunday School activities, on Saturday, July 27th from 11:45-1:15 here at our church.  We have special shuttles to get here from the MAC center for those who don’t have a ride. Archdiocesan Annual Picnic at St. Mary's Villa. 150 Sisters Servants Lane in Sloatsburg, NY. Holy Liturgy begins at 10:00 am, followed by barbeque, music and sports for the kids. Reminder: We will not have Liturgy at our church on August 18 because it will be celebrated at the picnic.
