History

Today’s Assyrian Orthodox Church of The Virgin Mary dates its history back to the 3rd century in southeastern Turkey, where Diyarbakir St. Mary Church has been a surviving landmark of Syriac history, tradition, and culture. Over the years, this church of ours has contained valuable literature, books, pictures, and even a piece of wood from the Cross, on which Jesus himself was crucified.

Our Mission

We believe that the door to salvation is always open, as are the doors to our church. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus Christ. Part of that mission means showing God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. And we open our arms to those in search of the truth.
